Since 1993, Chicago Clearing Corporation (CCC), formerly Certificate Clearing Corporation, has successfully created markets in thirteen class action certificate settlements, and helped class action claimants retrieve over $100 million dollars. Without CCC, many class members would receive little, if anything, from their settlement award.
CCC has championed the transferability and marketability of class action certificate settlements for over thirteen years. Class action plaintiff's attorneys, judges, consumer advocacy groups and objectors recognize CCC as the world's foremost expert in the class action certificate field and have solicited CCC's expert witness testimony on numerous occasions.
In addition, CCC has submitted testimony to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Administrative Oversight, the Federal Civil Rules Advisory Committee, and the White House Counsel of Economic Advisors. Our comments regarding proposed amendments to Federal Rule 23 were published and presented at the National Institute on Class Actions. In 2004, CCC participated at the Federal Trade Commission Class Action Workshop in Washington, DC and submitted a subsequent article to the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics.
CCC and its founder James Tharin have also been in numerous articles and a variety
of publications, as well as on television.
